SMS Privacy Policy Last updated: May 2026 This page describes how Maitreya Retreat ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses mobile phone numbers and SMS data in connection with our internal staff notification system. This policy is specific to our SMS program and is supplemental to our general privacy practices. What data we collect When a staff member, contractor, or work-trader is invited to our internal task-management system, they may optionally provide their mobile phone number through a private onboarding form at https://maitreya-dashboard-production.up.railway.app/staff-onboarding. Phone number entry is optional. Staff who do not provide a phone number receive notifications through other channels (Telegram, in-app dashboard) instead. How we use your phone number We use the phone number you provide solely to send SMS notifications related to your work at Maitreya Retreat, including: - Task assignments and due-date reminders - Manager questions about submitted work - Status updates when submissions are approved or returned for revision - Critical-late escalations when a task is past its scheduled deadline We do not use your phone number for marketing, advertising, or any non-operational purpose. We do not share, sell, rent, or lease mobile phone numbers or SMS data to third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. Mobile information is not shared outside Maitreya Retreat except as required to deliver the SMS messages themselves through our messaging service provider (Twilio). Message frequency Message frequency varies with task activity. Most staff receive between 1 and 10 messages per day. Frequency may be higher during busy periods or when a staff member has multiple active assignments. Message and data rates Message and data rates may apply. Standard carrier charges for receiving SMS messages apply based on your mobile plan. Opt-out You can opt out of SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP to any message. After opting out, you will no longer receive SMS notifications. You can re-enable SMS at any time by replying START or by re-entering your phone number through the staff onboarding form. Reply HELP for assistance. Data retention Phone numbers are stored in our internal staff records and retained while you are an active member of the Maitreya Retreat team. Phone numbers are removed within 90 days of separation, or earlier upon written request.
