SMS Staff Notifications — How It Works

Maitreya Retreat operates an internal SMS notification program to keep our staff, contractors, and work-traders informed about their work assignments at our wellness center in Santa Cruz, California.

This page explains exactly how the program works, how staff opt in, what messages they receive, and how they can stop receiving messages at any time.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE
Only individuals who have been personally invited by Maitreya Retreat ownership to join our internal task-management system. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS messages to the general public. Eligible participants are 18 years of age or older.

HOW STAFF OPT IN
Invited staff receive a private onboarding link from the business owner (Michael Trainer). Opening the link takes them to a setup form at https://maitreya-dashboard-production.up.railway.app/staff-onboarding, where they are asked for their name, availability, skills, and — optionally — their mobile phone number.

By entering a mobile phone number and submitting the onboarding form, the staff member consents to receive SMS messages from Maitreya Retreat at that number, related to their work assignments.

Providing a phone number is optional. Staff who choose not to provide one continue to receive notifications through other channels (Telegram and the in-app dashboard).

WHAT MESSAGES YOU WILL RECEIVE
After opting in, staff may receive SMS messages about:
- New task assignments and due dates
- Reminders for tasks approaching their due date
- Manager questions about submitted work
- Status updates when submissions are approved or returned for revision
- Critical-late escalations when tasks are overdue

Sample messages:

  Maitreya: New task assigned to you — "Sweep front desk." Due today 5:00 PM. Tap to view + submit photo proof: https://maitreya-dashboard-production.up.railway.app/worker?t=abc123. Reply STOP to opt out.

  Maitreya: Task "Empty cold plunge filter" is past due. Please complete and submit photo evidence as soon as possible. Tap: https://maitreya-dashboard-production.up.railway.app/worker?t=abc123. Reply STOP to opt out.

  Maitreya: Your submission for "Deep clean Garden tubs" was approved. Bounty of $40 added to your pay ledger. Tap to view: https://maitreya-dashboard-production.up.railway.app/worker?t=abc123. Reply STOP to opt out.

MESSAGE FREQUENCY
Message frequency varies based on the staff member's role, shifts worked, and outstanding task assignments. Typical frequency is 1 to 10 messages per day. There is no fixed schedule.

COSTS
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Maitreya Retreat does not charge for SMS messages.

HOW TO OPT OUT
You can stop receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP, OPTOUT, CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, or STOPALL to any message you receive from us. You will receive one final confirmation message and then no further messages will be sent to your number.
